Already one of Boston's premier cultural destinations, the Museum of Fine Arts is home to a blossoming film program, equipped with almost 500 seats and 4K, 35mm, & 16mm projection capabilities. It’s the host to some of the city's most unique and diverse film festivals, including the Roxbury International Film Festival, Boston French Film Festival, Boston Turkish Film Festival, Boston Palestine Film Festival, Boston Festival of Films from Iran, and many more.
In addition to festivals, the MFA has programmed retrospectives of some of cinema's greatest icons as well as lesser-known luminaries, including Chantal Akerman, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Wong Kar-wai, Pierre Étaix, Mohammad Rasoulof, and Frederick Wiseman, as well as one-off screenings of foreign films rarely seen on American big screens.
